What is Soochak?

Soochak is a secure and confidential reporting platform that allows members of the public to share information about wrongdoing, crime, and unethical practices in Nepal. Reports can be submitted anonymously and are handled with care and responsibility.

Who can submit a report?

Anyone can submit a report. You do not need to be a victim or directly involved. If you have credible information that may serve the public interest, you are encouraged to report it.

Can I report anonymously?

Yes. You are not required to provide your name, email address, or any identifying details. Anonymous reports are accepted and treated seriously.

Is my information safe?

Yes. All submissions are encrypted. We do not collect IP addresses or technical data that could identify you. Your privacy is protected unless you choose to share personal details voluntarily.

What type of information should I include?

Provide clear, factual details where possible, such as:

What happened
Where and when it occurred
Who was involved
Any supporting evidence (documents, images, or files)

Avoid speculation or unverified rumours.

Can I upload evidence?

Yes. You may upload relevant documents, images, or files to support your report. Only upload material you have the right to share.

What happens after I submit a report?

Each report is reviewed by our moderation team. Depending on the nature of the issue, it may be shared with trusted investigative journalists, civil society organisations, or relevant oversight bodies.

Will I be contacted?

You will not be contacted unless you choose to provide contact details and explicitly request follow-up.

Does submitting a report guarantee action?

No. While every report is reviewed carefully, NepGov.com cannot guarantee investigations, outcomes, or legal action. The platform’s role is to responsibly surface information in the public interest.

What should I not use Soochak for?

Soochak should not be used for:

False or malicious allegations
Personal disputes without public interest
Emergency situations (contact local emergency services instead)
